💡 At a Glance
If your Coram Point shows as offline in the Coram web app, work through these checks in order: power, local network, internet connectivity, and cloud registration. Most offline issues are caused by a power interruption, a network change, or a firewall configuration that blocks outbound traffic from the Coram Point.
This article provides a structured diagnostic flow. Each step links to a more detailed article if you need to go deeper.
Before You Start
To troubleshoot a Coram Point that shows as offline, you need physical or remote access to the location where the Coram Point is installed, and access to the network equipment (switches, router, firewall) at that site. You also need an Admin account in the Coram web app.
Note: If all cameras and the Coram Point are offline, the issue is almost always power or internet at the site. If the Coram Point is online but individual cameras are offline, refer to Troubleshooting: Cameras Showing as Offline instead.
Step 1: Verify Power
Confirm that the Coram Point appliance is receiving power and is turned on.
Check that the power cable is securely connected to the Coram Point and to a working power outlet.
Look for indicator lights on the front or back of the appliance. If no lights are visible, the device may not be receiving power.
If the appliance has a power button, confirm it is in the on position.
If the Coram Point has no power, restore power and wait two to three minutes for it to boot. Check the Coram web app to see if the status changes to online.
Step 2: Check Local Network Connectivity
If the Coram Point has power but remains offline, verify that it is connected to the local network.
Confirm that an Ethernet cable is connected from the Coram Point to your network switch or router.
Check that the network switch port shows an active link light.
If possible, try a different Ethernet cable or switch port to rule out a hardware fault.
Step 3: Verify Internet Connectivity
Coram Point requires an active internet connection to communicate with the Coram cloud. If the local network is up but the Coram Point is still offline, the site may have lost internet access.
Test internet connectivity from another device on the same network.
If the internet is down at the site, contact your internet service provider or network administrator.
If the internet is working for other devices but the Coram Point remains offline, check whether a firewall or network policy is blocking the Coram Point's outbound traffic. For the required firewall rules, refer to Firewall Settings for Coram Point.
Tip: Common causes of firewall-related offline issues include VLAN changes, firewall rule updates, or new network equipment that does not have the required Coram exceptions configured.
Step 4: Restart the Coram Point
If power, network, and internet are all confirmed, try restarting the Coram Point. A restart resolves most transient connectivity issues.
For detailed instructions on how to safely restart your Coram Point, refer to Restarting Your Coram Point NVR.
After the restart, wait two to three minutes and check the Coram web app to see if the Coram Point comes back online.
Step 5: Check Registration Status
If the Coram Point still shows as offline after a restart, the device may need to be re-registered with the Coram cloud.
Refer to Registering Coram Point to confirm the device is properly registered to your organization and location.
Still Offline?
If you have worked through all five steps and the Coram Point remains offline, contact Coram support. When you reach out, include the following information to help speed up diagnosis:
The name and location of the affected Coram Point
Which steps you have already completed
Whether the issue started after a known event (power outage, network change, firmware update)
Whether other devices on the same network have internet access
