Overview
In Coram, Locations are used as follows:
To distinguish and identify Coram Point appliances that are added to your organization, and determine the location details for each of your cameras.
To help manage which users have access to which cameras. To learn more about managing users, refer to Settings: Users.
To determine which users can access, trigger, manage, and interact with different emergencies in Coram's Emergency Management System (EMS). To learn more, refer to Introduction to Coram's Emergency Management System (EMS).
Tip: You must also choose or create a Location when you add a new Coram Point to your organization. To learn more, refer to Registering Coram Point.
Note: The Location for each IP camera is assigned based on on the Coram Point to which it is connected. Coram Point manages this assignment automatically, so you can't directly change the location for an individual camera.

Type a name and an address for the location.
Choose whether you want to enable automatic time zone management.
IMPORTANT: If you enable automatic time zone management, Coram defaults to using Los Angeles (Pacific Time) as the time zone. This is because no physical location data is available. It is strongly recommended that you disable automatic time zone management when creating a location, unless you are certain you want to use Los Angeles' time zone (Pacific Time).
Click Save.
Changing the location for an existing Coram Point

From the main navigation menu, choose Devices, then click the Appliances tab.

Note: If you add a Coram Point to a location that has automatic time zone management enabled, the time zone does not update to the physical location of the Coram Point you added.
Automatic Time Zone Management
When adding or updating a Location in Coram, you have the option to enable or disable Automatic Time Zone Management. Here's how it works:
If you create a Location from Settings > Locations:
If you enable automatic time zone management, Coram defaults the time zone to Los Angeles (Pacific Time), because the system has no physical location data to use at this point. To avoid unexpected time zone assignments, we recommend manually choosing the correct time zone by disabling automatic management during this step.
If you create a Location during Coram Point Registration:
Automatic time zone management is enabled by default and cannot be changed during registration. In this case, Coram automatically sets the time zone based on the physical location of the connected Coram Point device.
Overriding Default Settings:
After setup, you can disable automatic time zone management in the Settings > Locations page and manually assign a different time zone to suit your needs.
