Choosing a Network Setup Option
Before you connect your Coram Point, decide which setup is best for your environment.
Note: Coram Point does not act as a router. Ensure that your router assigns IP addresses to the cameras on your network.
Option 1: Isolate Cameras from the Public Internet
Choose this option if security is a priority and you want to prevent cameras from being accessible on the internet, for example if your cameras and public internet are on different networks.
How It Works
One NIC connects to the public internet.
The second NIC connects to a private PoE (Power over Ethernet) switch for cameras, keeping them on a separate LAN.
Benefits
Enhanced security by keeping cameras isolated while still enabling cloud-based management.
Option 2: Expose Cameras to the Public Internet
Choose this option if security isolation isn’t a major concern, and you want to keep things simple.
How It Works
Both Coram Point and cameras connect to the same network that provides internet access.
Benefits
Easier setup with fewer network components to configure.
Connecting Coram Point to Your Network
Before you begin, if you have existing IP cameras connected, review your network topology to confirm which switches provide access to the camera LAN and public internet.

Connect the included power cable.
The device powers on automatically.Do one of the following:
Option 1 (Isolated Cameras): connect one NIC to the public internet using an ethernet cable, and connect the second NIC to a PoE switch, linked to your cameras.
Option 2 (Exposed Cameras): Connect any one NIC to your network, which provides internet access and connects to your cameras.
