💡 At a Glance
Connecting Coram Point to the Internet involves selecting the appropriate Ethernet ports for your model, and optionally configuring a static IP address using your router or the Coram web app. Proper network integration ensures seamless communication between Coram Point, your cameras, and the Coram cloud, facilitating remote access, monitoring, and management.
⚡ Key Tasks
Select the correct Ethernet port
For Workstation models (CP-S, CP-E), use either of the two rear ports. For Server Rack models (CP-X, CP-Y), use the designated ports for internet or camera network connections as outlined in the documentation.
Configure network settings
By default, Coram Point uses DHCP. If a static IP is required, either assign it via your router by binding the Coram Point's MAC address to an IP. You can also do this in the Coram web app. through Devices > Appliance > Settings > Network, by disabling DHCP and entering the desired network details.
Verify connectivity
After configuration, confirm that Coram Point maintains internet access and proper communication with the Coram web app. If using static IP via the web app causes issues, changes will revert automatically, so adjust settings as necessary.

Overview
Coram Point is designed to integrate seamlessly with your network and cameras. This guide outlines the Ethernet port options for each model and provides recommendations for connecting the appliance, including how to configure static IP addresses if needed.
Ethernet Ports by Model
Workstation Models (CP-S and CP-E)
These models include two rear Ethernet ports.
You can use either Ethernet port to connect to the internet or your camera network.
Server Rack Models (CP-X and CP-Y)
These models include up to six rear Ethernet ports.
You can use the Ethernet ports outlined in the following image for internet or camera network connections:
Tip: Ensure you use the correct ports for your chosen setup option to avoid misconfiguration.
Static IP Address Configuration
Coram Point supports both Dynamic (DHCP) and Static IP assignment. DHCP is enabled by default, and is recommended for most setups. Static IP addresses may be required in specific cases, such as when integrating with advanced security configurations or specific network hardware.
Setting a Static IP Address
There are two ways to assign a static IP to your Coram Point:
1. From Your Router
This method assigns a static IP through the router’s interface:
Locate the Coram Point MAC Address:
Log in to the Coram web app.
Navigate to Devices > Appliance > Settings, and find the MAC address of the Ethernet port you want to configure.
Set the Static IP in Your Router Settings:
Access your router’s configuration page.
Assign a static IP to the MAC address of the desired Ethernet port.
2. From the Coram Web App
You can also assign a static IP directly through the Coram web app:
Navigate to Devices > Appliance > Settings > Network.
Select the Ethernet interface to configure.
Switch from DHCP to Static IP:
Disable the DHCP option.
Fill in the following fields:
Static IP Address: The desired IP address for the device.
Gateway IP Address: The IP address of your network gateway.
Subnet Mask: Typically,
255.255.255.0
.DNS Server Address: Your network’s DNS server.
To apply these settings, click Submit.
Notes:
After setting a static IP, check that the Coram Point appliance has internet access and communicates properly with the Coram web app.
If you attempt to set a static IP from the Coram web app, and Coram Point loses its internet connection as a result of this process, any changes you made are automatically discarded, and the previous configuration is restored.
