Overview
Coram Point regularly measures its available uplink and downlink speeds, helping you diagnose potential bandwidth issues. You can also run a manual ping test from Coram Point to see if specific IP addresses, such as those of IP cameras, are reachable. By using these tests, you can confirm your network paths and troubleshoot connectivity problems without leaving the Coram web app.
Running a Speed Test
Coram Point automatically runs speed tests every 12 hours, but you may need to rerun a test for the latest metrics.
Access the Coram web app and sign in to your account.
From the main navigation menu, click Devices, then select the Appliances tab.
Click Settings for the Coram Point appliance you want to test.
Choose Rerun Speed Test to start a manual test.
Wait up to 30–45 seconds for the test to complete.
Tip: If internet bandwidth seems limited or cameras appear offline, a fresh speed test helps determine whether Coram Point is operating under suboptimal network conditions.
Running a Ping Test
If Coram Point needs to connect to an IP camera, it should be able to ping that camera’s IP address. This verifies there is a usable path on the network. Performing a ping test quickly pinpoints network configuration or connectivity issues without requiring external tools.
Note: If the camera’s IP address does not respond, Coram Point cannot connect and stream video from that device.
Access the Coram web app and sign in to your account.
From the main navigation menu, click Devices, then select the Appliances tab.
Click Settings for the Coram Point appliance you want to test.
Enter the IP address you want to ping.
Wait up to 30 seconds for the ping test results to appear.
