Responding to an Emergency in Coram EMS

Learn how to view, respond to, and resolve active emergencies in the Coram web or mobile app.

Updated this week

Overview

When an emergency is reported, Coram EMS sends notifications and creates a dedicated emergency chat, where permitted users can respond via the Respond page in the web or mobile app. From the chat, permitted users can view and send text messages, and resolve the emergency.

Once inside an emergency chat thread all EMS users can view all messages sent about the emergency. Permitted users have the following additional capabilities:

  • Send new messages to provide updates or instructions.

  • Resolve the emergency when it is no longer active.

IMPORTANT: Coram EMS can send notifications only if at least one notification channel and one recipient is configured for that emergency type. To learn more, refer to Configuring Emergency Types in Coram EMS.

Note: Coram EMS is license-based, and access must be assigned under Settings > Users. To learn more, refer to Settings: Users.

Tip: Coram EMS user permissions for emergency chats are managed in the Configure page. To learn more, refer to Configuring an Emergency in Coram EMS.
