Reporting an Emergency in Coram EMS

Learn about how to send an emergency broadcast in Coram EMS.

Overview

Reporting an emergency in Coram EMS instantly broadcasts an emergency alert, notifying a predefined list of recipients and opening a dedicated chat thread. You can report emergencies from both the web and mobile apps.

Reporting an Emergency in the Coram Web App

To report an emergency using the Coram web app:

  1. Access the Coram web app and log in to your account.

  2. In the top left corner the main navigation menu, click the Coram logo, then select Emergencies.

  3. The Report page loads by default.

  4. Select the Location where the emergency is occurring.

    WARNING: If the location you want to select is in Drill Mode, you cannot report a real emergency for that location.

  5. Select the Emergency Type.

  6. If context options are available for the emergency type you selected, choose one from the Add Context dropdown menu (optional).

  7. Click Broadcast Emergency.

Once triggered:

  • Notifications are sent to all users selected in your EMS configuration for this emergency.

  • A dedicated chat is created in the Respond page, which loads automatically.

  • Recipients may receive push, SMS, or email alerts depending on the configured channels.

Reporting an Emergency in the Coram Mobile App

To report an emergency using the Coram mobile app:

  1. Open the Coram mobile app and make sure you're logged in.

  2. Tap the Emergencies icon in the bottom navigation bar.

  3. Select the Location where the emergency is occurring.

  4. Find the emergency type you want to report.

  5. To report an emergency, drag the corresponding icon from left to right:

    • If emergency contexts are configured, A drawer appears allowing you to choose a context. Select the context, then tap Report Emergency.

    • If no contexts are configured, the emergency is broadcast immediately after dragging the icon.

After broadcasting:

  • Notifications are sent to all users selected in your EMS configuration for this emergency.

  • A dedicated chat is created in the Respond page, which loads automatically.

  • Recipients may receive push, SMS, or email alerts depending on the configured channels.
