🔎 At a glance
The Access Control surface in the Coram mobile app lets you manage doors, review access events, and monitor access control alerts from your phone or tablet. You can unlock doors, check who entered a building, and stay on top of security events without switching to the web app.
To open Access Control, tap the product switcher dropdown at the top left of the screen, then select Access Control. The bottom navigation shows three items: Doors, Alerts, and + (AI Assistant).
For a full overview of Access Control features, including hardware setup and policy configuration, refer to Introduction to Coram Access Control. This article covers only the mobile app experience.
This article is part of the mobile app documentation series. For an overview of all mobile features, refer to Introduction to the Coram Mobile App.
Doors
The Doors tab is the default view when you open Access Control in the Coram mobile app. It contains two sub-tabs: Doors and Events.
Doors Sub-Tab
The Doors sub-tab displays all doors in your organization, grouped by location (for example, "Alderwood Office" or "Fully Loaded (IN)"). Each door entry shows:
A thumbnail image of the door or its associated camera view
The door name
A lock icon indicating the current lock state
An access status badge, for example, a grey "No Access" badge indicates that you do not have permission to unlock that door
To unlock a door, tap the door's Unlock button. If you have the required permission, the door unlocks.
Note: Your ability to unlock a door depends on the permissions assigned to your account. If you see a "No Access" badge, contact your administrator. To learn more about how permissions work, refer to Adding and Managing Doors.
Events Sub-Tab
The Events sub-tab displays a chronological feed of access events across your doors, such as card swipes, door opens, and unlock attempts. Use this tab to review recent door activity while you are away from the web app. if available, the tab also provides access to video footage of the event.
Alerts
The Alerts tab shows access control alerts that have triggered across your organization. The alert feed follows the same format as the Cameras alert feed, but is filtered to show only access-control-related events such as door forced open, door held open, tamper, and controller status alerts.
Each alert entry in the feed displays:
A camera thumbnail (if a camera is associated with the door)
The alert name and type
The door or controller that triggered the alert
A timestamp
Tap an alert to view additional detail, including video footage and location information.
Note: Alert setup and configuration are only available in the Coram web app. The mobile app displays alerts that have already triggered but does not support creating or editing alert rules. To learn more about configuring access control alerts, refer to Introduction to Access Control Alerts.
AI Assistant
The button on the right hand side of the bottom nav bar opens Coram Assistant, which you can use to ask access-control-related questions in natural language, such as:
"Who accessed the building today?"
"Show me the last unlock event for the front door."
"Were there any forced entry alerts this week?"
The AI Assistant draws on your organization's access control data to provide answers. To learn more about the AI Assistant, refer to Introduction to Coram Assistant.
