Overview
Audio Alerts let you automatically broadcast a spoken message through a network-connected speaker whenever an alert is triggered in Coram. Audio Alerts are designed to improve safety, situational awareness, and real-time responses by adding an audible message to important detections, like a firearm threat, a trespasser, a fall, or unsafe gas levels.
Note: To use audio alerts, you must add at least one network speaker to your account. To learn more, refer to Adding Network Speakers to your Organization.
When an alert is triggered anyone nearby hears a loud, clear voice message that matches the type of incident.
Audio Alerts are especially useful in the following scenarios:
Awareness: Make sure people nearby know something is happening, so they can react quickly and appropriately. For example:
Active shooter threat
Trespasser
Smoke, heat, and toxic gases
Slip-and-fall incident
Deterrence: Prevent unwanted behavior in real time. For example:
Person entering a restricted area
Loitering
Vaping, smoking, or other environmental changes
Configuring Audio Alerts
You can set up audio alerts when you create or edit an alert in the Coram app.
Enable the Audio Alert setting
This enables a preset, contextual message that plays when the alert is triggered. You can preview the message during setup.
Assign speakers for the alert
After you select cameras for the alert, assign one or more connected speakers. When an alert is triggered, all assigned speakers will broadcast the message.
