September rebuilds Floorplans from the ground up, blurs faces before footage leaves your organization, runs your Coram Assistant questions on a schedule, and lets you set your own guest screening rules.

⚡ The Latest Updates from Coram

September brings a substantial round of updates, putting more control in your hands. From a map of every camera, to the footage you share and the guests you admit:

  • See exactly where it happened: Floorplans, rebuilt from the ground up, show every camera on a map of your site, and one click opens its video.

  • Let Coram Assistant run your routine checks: Turn any question into a scheduled task and have each answer waiting for you.

  • Blur faces in a few clicks: Protect the privacy of bystanders when sharing footage with police, courts, or the public.

  • Run background checks, your way: Decide exactly which records hold a guest at the door, so screening matches your site's policy.

  • Get more control from your phone: Easier access to review, share, and search your footage from anywhere, in HD when you need the detail.

  • Fine-tune access for Organization Admins: Give every admin exactly the products their role needs.

Floorplans, Rebuilt from the Ground Up

Know exactly what's covered and where to look, with every camera on a map of your site.

When something happens, knowing where it happened is half the job. Floorplans have been completely redeveloped, with their own page and an interactive map of each floor at each of your locations. Every camera sits where it's installed, a shaded cone shows what it can see, and resting your pointer on a camera shows its name and live video. One click opens that camera in Timeline view.

Building a plan takes three easy steps: upload an image of the floor, set its scale, and place your cameras. You can also share your floorplans with first responders or partners through a link. They see the plans and live video in a browser, with no Coram account, until the link expires on the date you choose.

Schedule Tasks in Coram Assistant

Let Coram Assistant do your routine checks for you, on your schedule.

The questions you ask every day, like "who came through the loading dock after hours?", can now run on their own. In the web app, turn any question into a scheduled task and choose how often it runs: daily, weekdays only, weekly, or monthly. Each answer is saved in the task's history, ready when you open it, and you can ask for an email notification when a new one is ready. Use Test Run to try a task straight away, or turn on Deep Investigation to get a full report each time. Every user can keep two tasks active at a time.

Blur Faces for Courtroom-Ready Footage in Just a Few Clicks

Share what matters, and protect the privacy of everyone else in the frame.

When footage has to leave your organization, whether for a police report, a records request, or a meeting with parents, the people in the background matter too. Now you can blur them before you share. When you download a clip, turn on Blur Face and Coram blurs the face of each person it detects, or you can choose exactly who stays visible. Your original recordings are never changed.

Blurred clips also carry proof that they haven't been altered. Anyone you send one to can confirm it's the original file Coram produced, in seconds and without signing in, at public.coram.ai/verify-download.

Blur Face is available when you download clips of up to 10 minutes from the Timeline, alerts, AI Analytics, Insights, and Coram Assistant in the web app.

Fully Customizable Background Checks Enable Tighter Admission Policies

Set the exact rules for who waits for approval, so your front desk stops the visits that matter and waves the rest through.

Every site draws the line in a different place. A school may want to hold anyone on a sex offender registry, while an admin office may only care about recent, serious offenses. Now you decide exactly which records hold a guest for approval: by type of record, type of offense, court outcome, severity, and how old the record is. Guests who meet your policy check in without delay, and anyone who doesn't is held with the reason in plain view.

Sensitive details stay protected: front-desk staff see that a guest is held and why, while full record details are visible to admins only. If a check can't finish, Coram retries it straight away and checks the guest in as soon as the result comes back clear. Every organization can also now see at a glance whether the name a guest entered matches their ID.

Set your rules under Guests → Configure → Background Checks.

The Latest Mobile App Updates Mean Even More Control from Your Phone

Handle incidents wherever you are, without waiting to get back to a desk.

  • Find and share saved video on the go: Video Vault is now in the Coram mobile app. Play your saved clips, share them with a colleague or first responder, or save them to your phone, straight from wherever you are.

  • See the detail when it counts: Switch the Timeline to HD when you need to read a plate or make out a face, and the app remembers your choice. Sharing, saving, and downloading a clip now sit together in one menu.

  • Search a camera's footage by keyword: On a camera's Timeline, tap View Detections, open the Discover tab, and type what you're looking for, like "white van". Matching clips from that day appear, ready to play.

  • Describe what you're looking for: Tell Coram Assistant on your phone what to find, like "a person in a red jacket yesterday", and the matching clips appear right in the chat.

  • Go full screen instantly: Turn your phone sideways while watching a camera's Timeline, live or recorded, to fill the screen.

Update to the latest version of the Coram app from the App Store or Google Play to get these features.

Fine-Tuned Control for Organization Admins

Give every admin exactly the access their role needs, product by product.

Being an Organization Admin now means running your organization: managing people, user groups, locations, and organization-wide settings. Admin access to each product, such as Video Security, Access Control, or Emergency Management, is granted separately. So the IT lead who manages your users can be an Organization Admin without seeing a single camera or door, and an Organization Admin only takes an Emergency Management seat when you give them an Emergency Management role. Anyone who is already an Organization Admin keeps the access they have today.

User groups do more of the work, too. People who get a product through a group now receive its notifications and can be chosen as alert recipients or panic-button owners, just like people you add one by one.

More New Capabilities & Improvements

Video Security

  • Sharper everyday live video: See more detail before you switch to HD. SD live video from standard cameras now streams at 720p.

  • Catch more license plates: Plates are read more reliably at night and on fast-moving vehicles, and a vehicle stopped at a gate or barrier has its plate read within seconds.

  • Know when footage has aged out: If you scrub to a time older than your retention period, the player now says so plainly.

  • Use more of the hardware you already have: Grandeye cameras (firmware 2.3.2) now work with Coram, and Axis C1410 Mk II network speakers are recognized as speakers.

  • Shared links that look ready right away: The people you share a clip or live view with see a still of the scene while the video loads, and alert links open on the alert's image.

  • Familiar playback everywhere: Saved and shared clips play with the same controls as the rest of Coram, including fisheye views you can pan and zoom.

  • Video walls that stay focused on the video: Camera names appear only when you hover over or tap a tile.

  • Get cameras online faster: Add many cameras in one go, and Coram points out any that are missing details before you add them.

  • Know exactly what went offline: Phone notifications name the appliance, its location, and when it went offline, and a single notification covers several appliances that go down together.

Coram Assistant

  • Ask about the camera you're watching: Open Coram Assistant from a camera's Timeline and it focuses on that camera unless you ask about others.

  • Ask the way you'd say it: Phrases like "show me" or "find footage of" don't change the results, and each result is titled with exactly what was searched.

  • Add an appliance by asking: Admins who manage devices can ask Coram Assistant to add an appliance, and it opens the form ready to review.

Access Control

  • Refreshed Access Control UI: Doors, controllers, events, permissions, schedules, lockdowns, alerts, and the calendar all have a cleaner design that's easier to work through, including from the keyboard.

  • See who, not an ID number: Regular Access Control users now see people's names in permissions, overrides, lockdowns, the calendar, and door events, on the web and in the mobile app.

  • One time zone, everywhere: Event and alert times show in your own time zone, with the zone named, across the events list, event details, and controller status.

Guest Management

  • Hosts know where to go: Arrival and approval notifications, by email and text, name the location where the guest is waiting, with times in that site's time zone.

  • Keep every check-in device ready: Admins can see which check-in devices need an app update before they can check guests in, and get an email listing them.

  • Your logo, your way: Upload larger logo files, and Coram sizes them for your guest emails.

Emergency Management (EMS)

  • Deleting an emergency type now asks you to confirm first, so a type can't disappear by accident.

Mobile

  • Sign in once: Signing in, including single sign-on and choosing your organization, now happens in one browser window, from a redesigned sign-in screen.

  • Notifications take you straight there: Tapping a notification opens that exact alert or emergency, even if it's in another organization.

  • Pick up where you left off: The app reopens on the product and tab you were last using, and camera thumbnails appear straight away.

  • Only what you use: The Products menu shows only the products your organization uses.

  • Clips show the camera's date and time, and the Android app opens faster.

Developer API

  • Manage Access Control from your integrations: List cardholders and assign, replace, or remove a card, and create, edit, or delete permissions using your existing users, user groups, doors, and door groups.

  • Build on firearm alerts: Integrations can now list and read your firearm alert settings.

  • API keys follow their creator's access: An API key reaches only the locations where the person who created it has the required role.

  • Link straight to the moment: The link that opens a camera's Timeline at a specific moment is now documented.

  • See developer.coram.ai for details.

Platform

  • Three months of activity at your fingertips: Access Logs add 30-day and 90-day views and search across the whole range, even in the largest organizations.

  • Switching products is quicker: Coram loads each product's pages in the background while you work.

  • Hover over a dropdown whose selection is cut off to see everything you picked.

Fixes and Reliability

Video & Playback

  • Coram Points reconnect to the cloud within seconds if their connection drops, and pick up a camera's new frame rate without a restart.

  • If one camera can't play, the rest of the page keeps running, and a stalled live tile catches back up on its own.

  • Fisheye views stay dewarped while you scrub a wall, and site admins can flip any single Four-cut fisheye view the right way up.

  • Multi-sensor cameras show every lens on the Timeline, and Play Journey starts on the right footage every time.

  • Coram always opens its newest version in your browser.

Downloads & Video Vault

  • Download and Archive open ready to use from any clip, and long video exports play for their full length.

  • Multi-camera downloads finish without waiting on appliances that have been offline for over a week.

Alerts

  • Firearm, PPE, and slip-and-fall alerts arrive once per event, with a single notification.

  • Paused alerts stay paused when you edit their settings, and alerts arrive reliably even when many fire at once.

Access Control

  • Door events show whether a door was opened with a PIN or a card, everywhere you see them.

  • People who get access through a user group stay on permissions, lockdowns, and overrides when you save.

  • Permissions and schedules that use door groups save cleanly after a controller is removed.

  • Request-to-exit (REX) inputs that haven't been set up no longer fill the event feed.

  • A door whose controller is offline shows an unknown-state icon rather than a closed padlock, and the Lockdowns list says when it couldn't load.

  • Only an Access Control admin can set a user's card or PIN; other admins see those fields locked, with an explanation.

Guest Management

  • Date filters on the Guests page follow the local day at the site you're viewing, and long screening reasons wrap neatly.

  • When a returning guest enters their email or phone on the check-in device, only their name and company are filled in.

Coram Assistant

  • In the web app, your first question in a new chat goes through, even on a shaky connection.

  • Each search result appears once, door events keep their footage even after a door is removed, and Journey Path follows vehicles the Assistant finds.

  • Coram Assistant no longer warns that an answer is taking longer than usual while an investigation is still running normally.

Mobile

  • If the app can't restore your session, a Try again button reconnects you without signing in again.

  • iPhone thumbnails fill in on their own after a network hiccup, push notifications register reliably, and signing in with Google takes you straight to your organization.

Platform

  • You can edit any user's card, PIN, or name even without a phone number on file.

  • Continue with Google takes members of SSO organizations straight to their organization's sign-in.

  • Organizations that require SSO are reached only through their own SSO, even by admins who signed in through another organization.

  • Menus and date pickers inside dialogs open fully, and a panel opened from another panel no longer closes the one behind it.

  • Images on a shared floorplan link stop loading as soon as the link expires.
