IMPORTANT:
Some of the steps in this process involve interacting with delicate electrical components. If you are not confident in your ability to complete this process, stop, and contact Coram support.
Use only hard drives that are provided by Coram. Use of any other hard drive can result in permanent damage to your Coram Point appliance.
Before You Begin
To complete this task, you need the following:
The additional or replacement 3.5" SATA hard drive, provided by Coram
A Phillips-head screwdriver
An anti-static wrist strap (optional, but recommended)
A clear workspace with a firm, flat work surface
Adding or Replacing Coram Point Hard Drives
CP-M and CP-S Models
Power off the appliance by removing the main power cable. Do not use the appliance power button.

Unplug all other cables, such as the Ethernet, display, and keyboard cables.
Locate the blue side panel latch, situated on the back of the appliance.
Push the latch down, in the direction of the arrow, then remove the side panel by sliding it toward the back of the case.

Store the side panel safely.
Lay the appliance on its side, open side up, on a flat work surface.
To swap the existing hard drive:
Locate the hard drive tray.

Remove the SATA data and power cables from the top side of the hard drive.
Push the hard drive tray tab in the direction of the arrow, then lift the tray out.

Remove the existing hard drive from the tray, then put the replacement hard drive in the tray, ensuring the same orientation.
Resit the hard drive tray in the original position, then reconnect the SATA data and power cables to the new hard drive.
Replace the appliance side panel and slide it forward to lock.
Reconnect any disconnected cables to the rear of the appliance, making sure to connect the power cable last.
CP-E Models
Power off the appliance by removing the main power cable.
Unplug all other cables, such as the Ethernet, display, and keyboard cables.
Loosen the side panel latch screw, situated on the back of the appliance, then pull the latch back to release the side panel.

Remove the side panel from the top side first, and store it safely.
Lay the appliance on its side, open side up, on a flat work surface.
To swap an existing hard drive:
Locate the hard drive tray that contains a hard drive.

Remove the SATA data and power cables from the rear of the existing hard drive.
Squeeze the blue hard drive tray tabs together, then pull the tray out.
Remove the existing hard drive from the tray, then put the replacement hard drive in the tray, ensuring the same orientation.
Resit the hard drive tray in the original position, then connect the SATA data and power cables to the new hard drive.
To add a new drive:
Locate an empty hard drive tray.

Squeeze the blue hard drive tray tabs together, then pull the tray out.
Place the hard drive in the tray, with the ports facing the same way as the tray pull tabs.
Connect the loose SATA data and power cables to the new hard drive.
To replace the appliance side panel, put the bottom tabs in place, then pull the side panel latch and simultaneously press the top of the side panel into place, then release the side panel latch.
Reconnect any disconnected cables to the rear of the appliance, making sure to connect the power cable last.
CP-X and CP-Y Models
Adding or swapping a hard drive for a CP-X or CP-Y model Coram Point is straightforward, since each model has 12 front-loading hard drive bays.
To add a hard drive:
To identify the first available empty hard drive tray, look for the first tray that doesn't show a flashing green LED light.
Note: The hard drive trays are vertically stacked:
Therefore, in the following image, the first empty hard drive tray is tray C:
After you identify the tray for the new hard drive, power off the appliance by removing the main power cable from the rear of the appliance. Do not use the appliance power button.
To remove the empty hard drive tray, press the corresponding blue tray release button, then pull the hinged cover forward.
Press-fit the hard drive into the hard drive tray with the SATA ports to the rear of the appliance, then re-insert the tray into the appliance.
Reconnect any disconnected cables to the rear of the appliance, making sure to connect the power cable last.
