Some users might have cameras distributed across multiple sites. There are several ways that Coram Point can be set up for this configuration:
Sites are connected to a VPN
If all the sites are on a common VPN, then only one central Coram Point is required. As long as the Coram Point can ping each of the cameras from the central location, the cameras can be streamed to the Coram Point. It is the customer’s responsibility to set up and maintain the VPN. The Coram AI support team can help test and confirm whether each camera is reachable from the Coram Point, but we don't provide a VPN solution.
Sites are not on a VPN
If the cameras at each site are behind their own router and there is no VPN connecting them, a Coram Point per site will be required. All these Coram Points can still be added to the same Coram dashboard.
Note: We have observed that some users expose their cameras and RTSP ports to the public internet to connect multiple sites with a single appliance. While Coram Point can support this use case, we highly discourage users from exposing cameras to the public internet, as this is not secure.
