All of my cameras are offline?
If you are experiencing issues with all of your cameras showing as offline, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem. The first step is to check whether the Coram Point appliance is showing as online or not. To do this, follow the steps below:
Coram Point appliance is also offline.
If the Coram Point appliance is also offline, then the issue is likely related to internet connectivity or power. Make sure to check that the Coram Point is receiving internet and is powered on. You can do this by checking the lights on the appliance or by trying to access the internet on a device connected to the same network as the Coram Point.
Once the Coram Point appliance is online, you should see the "Online" status as shown in the image above. If this was the only issue, then the cameras should also show up as online soon. If the cameras are still showing as offline, continue to the next section for further troubleshooting steps.
Coram Point appliance is online
If the Coram Point appliance is online while all the cameras are still offline, then the issue is likely related to the connection between the Coram Point and the cameras. If your cameras are connected to a PoE switch, make sure that the switch is properly powered on. Additionally, ensure that the LAN on which the cameras are present is accessible from the Coram Point. An offline camera
If you are experiencing issues with a specific camera or set of cameras being offline, there are a few potential reasons for this. In this article, we will go over the possible causes and how to troubleshoot them.
The username or password is incorrect
One common reason for a camera being offline is an incorrect username or password. This is especially true for IP cameras, which require the correct login credentials to establish an RTSP connection. If the username or password is incorrect, you will likely see a yellow triangle next to the "offline" status for the camera. To troubleshoot this issue, hover over the triangle to see the error message. If it indicates an incorrect username or password, you will need to update the login information for the camera in order to establish a connection.
To view the username and password currently used by the Coram AI app to connect to the camera, navigate to the camera settings (Devices > Settings). If the password is incorrect, you can reset it directly within the Coram AI app.
Camera is unreachable
Another potential reason for a camera being offline is that it is unreachable. This means that Coram Point is unable to communicate with the camera. When you hover over the yellow triangle, you may see an error message stating "Camera is not reachable". This could be due to the camera being disconnected or a poor connection between the camera and Coram Point. To troubleshoot this issue, check the physical connection of the camera and make sure it is properly connected. If the connection appears to be fine, you may need to troubleshoot the network connection between the camera and Coram Point.
If Coram Point is online, you can run a ping test to the camera's IP address to confirm that it is reachable from Coram Point. If the camera's IP address is not reachable from Coram Point, then the video will not be streaming.
The camera hasn't been activated
If you're having trouble getting your camera to work, it's possible that it hasn't been activated yet. Don't worry; this is a simple fix. Go to the Devices page and activate the given camera.
The camera image looks strange
Sometimes, a camera image may appear all black, white, blue, etc. If you encounter this, simply power cycle the camera. To power cycle the camera, you can unplug it from the POE switch and then plug it back in.
