Managing Faces, Profiles, and Persons of Interest

Learn how to navigate the AI Analytics feature to manage captured faces, create and manage profiles, and set up Person of Interest alerts.

Overview

Once you have configured your cameras for facial recognition, Coram automatically starts capturing faces on all your cameras. The AI Analytics page offers three essential tabs - Faces, Profiles, and Persons of Interest, which enable you to view and identify faces, create profiles, and set up alerts.

Note: Before you begin, make sure you have set up your cameras and Coram account for facial recognition. To learn more, refer to Introduction to Facial Recognition.

Viewing and Managing Faces and Profiles

The People tab provides access to Faces, Profiles, and Persons of Interest. To find the People tab, access the Coram web app and sign in to your account. From the main navigation menu, click AI Analytics, and ensure that the People tab is selected. The following sub-tabs are useful for managing faces and profiles:

  • Faces: Shows thumbnails of every face captured by all cameras connected to your Coram account, and allows you to create named profiles for faces you want monitor.

  • Profiles: Shows thumbnails of existing profiles that have been added to your account, and allows you to update and remove profiles, and create persons of interest.

Viewing and Filtering Faces

To browse faces captured by your cameras, select the Faces sub-tab, then scroll through the list of thumbnails. The thumbnails are sorted by capture date, from newest to oldest.

To find faces captured in a specific location, by a specific camera, or within a specific timeframe, use the filters at the top of the page.

Viewing Profiles

To browse the list of profiles that have been added to your account, click the Profiles sub-tab, then scroll through the list of named thumbnails. The thumbnails are sorted by creation date, from oldest to newest.

Viewing, Sharing, Downloading, and Archiving Video Clips of a Face or Profile

After you find the face or profile you're interested in, click the thumbnail to open the Face Detection window. From this window you can view, filter, share, download, and archive video clips that were captured by your cameras.

To view, download, share, or archive a video clip in the Face Detection window:

  1. Browse or use the filter dropdown menus to find the desired video clip thumbnail.

  2. in the bottom right corner of the thumbnail, click the three-dots menu ( ).

  3. Click Download, Share, or Archive:

    • If you choose Download:

      1. Specify the start and end time for the video clip.

      2. Click Download.

        The file is downloaded automatically to your default download location.

    • If you choose Share:

      1. Specify the start and end time for the video clip.

      2. Set an expiry date for the link.

      3. Provide an email address or phone number for the recipient.

      4. Add an optional message.

      5. Click Share.
        Coram sends an access link to the recipient.

    • If you choose Archive:

      • To add the video clip to a new archive:

        1. Ensure that Create New is selected.

        2. Specify the start and end time for the video clip.

        3. Provide a name for the archive, and optionally add tags and a description.

        4. Click Archive.

      • To add the video clip to an existing archive:

        • Select Add to Existing.

        • Specify the start and end time for the video clip.

        • Select the existing archive that you want to add to.

        • To add the clip, click Add Clip to Archive.

Creating a Profile from a Face

Before you can add a Person of Interest or set up the associated alerts, you need to create a profile for that person.

To create a profile using a face that was captured by one of your cameras:

  1. Navigate to the AI Analytics page, and ensure that the Person tab and the Faces sub-tab are selected.

  2. click the image thumbnail of the person you're interested in.

    The Face Detection window appears.

  3. Click Create Profile.

  4. To edit the name of the profile, click the Unnamed Profile text.

  5. Type a new name for the profile, then press Enter or click the green checkmark icon ().

  6. Your changes are saved automatically.

Creating a Person of Interest Alert from a Profile

After you create a profile, you can add that profile to the Persons of Interest list and enable alert notifications by assigning a notification group. This allows you to send instant email and SMS messages to inform a list ofR recipients that one of your cameras has identified a Person of Interest.

Note: Before you can enable a Person of Interest alert, you need to set up at least one notification group to assign to the alert. To learn more, refer to Notification Groups.

  1. Navigate to the AI Analytics page, then click the Profiles sub-tab.

  2. Locate the profile you want to enable alert notifications for, then click the image thumbnail.

    The Face Detection window appears.

  3. Click Add to Persons of Interest.

  4. Close the Face Detection window, then select the Persons of Interest sub-tab.

  5. From the list, locate the person you want to enable alerts for.

  6. From the corresponding Notification Groups dropdown menu, select the notification groups that you want to send alerts to.

  7. After you select all the notification groups you want to include, click away from the Notification Groups list.

    The alert is created and enabled automatically
