Overview
Coram’s facial recognition technology enables you to quickly capture and identify faces, and create alerts for known individuals when they appear on your cameras. By analyzing video from any camera connected to your Coram organization, the system can automatically detect faces, recognize specific people, and trigger real-time alerts. This ensures that whenever a person of interest appears on camera, you’ll be notified promptly and can take the appropriate action.
Warning: It is essential that you take reasonable steps ensure compliance with local laws and regulations regarding the use of facial recognition technology.
Enabling Facial Recognition
Before you can configure facial recognition settings and create profiles for persons of interest, you need to enable the feature for your Coram organization.
Note: Only admin users can enable facial recognition. For support, contact your system administrator.
To enable facial recognition:
Access the Coram web app and sign in to your account.
In the top-right corner of the page, click the dropdown arrow (), then select Settings.
In the Settings sub-menu, click Controls.
For Facial Recognition, enable the toggle switch.
Your changes are applied and saved automatically.

Ensuring Accurate Results for Facial Recognition
To achieve consistently accurate facial recognition results, ensure that cameras have the appropriate specifications, and positioned to capture faces clearly and with sufficient image quality.
Camera Resolution Guidelines
Select cameras with a resolution that allows you to capture images of a subject's face at a quality of at least 50 pixels per foot (PPF). The following table provides general guidelines for different common camera types at different distances from the subject.

Tips for Positioning Cameras
Use the above table to help determine the best installation location for your cameras, so that they capture critical areas within the recommended maximum distances. It is also important to install cameras in positions where subjects' faces are clearly visible, and ideally where a subject is captured looking at, or facing, the camera.
Viewing and Managing Faces, Profiles, and Persons of Interest
After you configure your cameras for facial recognition using the above guidelines, you are ready capture, identify, and respond to recognized individuals effectively through the Coram web app. The AI Analytics page provides access to the following three essential tabs:
Faces
The Faces tab shows a thumbnail image of every face captured by all cameras that are connected to your Coram organization.
Browse all faces that have been detected by your cameras.
Filter faces by location, camera, and time frame.
View and filter recorded video clips of a selected face and view journey paths.
Make a profile using a detected face, or an existing image of a face.
Profiles
The Profiles tab shows a thumbnail image of every face that you have provided a name for, and groups recurring instances of the same face.
View and manage existing profiles and create persons of interest.

Upload an existing image of a face to use for facial recognition.
Persons of Interest
The Persons of Interest tab shows a list of the profiles that you have opted to identify as a person of interest, and allows you to assign notification groups to those profiles, sending alerts when they appear on one of your cameras.
