💡 At a Glance
Coram’s timelapse feature allows you to condense extended periods of video footage into a short, reviewable clip to help identify patterns, anomalies, and trends over long durations. It compresses hours of footage into seconds, playing back at 10 frames per second, with each frame representing roughly six minutes of real time. Note that timelapse videos are temporary and must be downloaded if long-term storage is required.
⚡ Key Tasks
Create a Timelapse Video
In the Timeline view for a camera, click the Create Timelapse icon. Use the date picker to select your desired start and end times, then click Show Timelapse to generate and play the condensed video.
Download and Save
While viewing the timelapse, click the three-dots menu (⋮) on the video player toolbar and select Download to save a copy for offline review, sharing, or archival purposes.
Adjust Playback
Use playback speed controls (from 0.25x to 8x) to slow down for detailed analysis or speed up to quickly skim through footage. Enable Picture-in-Picture mode if you need to monitor the timelapse while multitasking.

Overview
You can create timelapse videos in the Coram web app, which enable you to streamline video review processes by condensing hours of footage into a few seconds. Use this feature to identify patterns, detect anomalies, and understand long-term trends more efficiently.
How It Works
The timelapse feature condenses recorded videos at a rate of one second of timelapse video for each hour of original recorded video. Generated videos play back at 10 frames per second, so each frame represents roughly six minutes of real time. For example, if you create a timelapse spanning 24 hours, the resulting 24-second video will provide 240 frames of footage.
Note: The maximum capacity for a timelapse video is 7 full days of recorded video, which equates to a timelapse video length of 2 minutes and 48 seconds.
Creating a Timelapse Video
Access the Coram web app and sign in to your account.
Go to the Timeline view for the desired camera. To learn more, refer to Introduction to Timeline View.
On the right side of the video player, click the Create Timelapse icon ():

The Timelapse window appears.
Use the date picker to set the start time and end time for the footage you want to compress.
To generate and view the condensed video, click Show Timelapse.
After a short while, the video appears as an overlay and begins playing automatically.
Note: Timelapse videos are not stored permanently on your account. After you navigate away from the timelapse video player, the video is deleted automatically. To save a video, you must download it from the video player toolbar. To learn more, refer to Timelapse Video Player Toolbar.
Timelapse Video Player Toolbar
When viewing the generated timelapse, the following tools are available in the video player toolbar. To access these tools, click the three-dots menu ( ⋮ ):
Download
Save the timelapse to your local device for offline review or evidence collection. Having a copy allows you to share it with colleagues, include it in reports, or archive it as part of your investigation records.
Playback Speed (0.25x to 8x)
Adjust the playback speed to examine events more closely or to skim through footage even faster. Slowing down the timelapse (e.g., 0.25x) helps you zero in on critical moments, while speeding it up (e.g., 8x) allows you to quickly scan for changes over longer periods.
Picture-in-Picture Mode
Enable picture-in-picture (PiP) mode to view the timelapse in a small, resizable window that stays on top of other browser tabs or applications. This feature makes it convenient to monitor events while simultaneously working on other tasks, referencing documentation, or collaborating with team members.
