All Coram Point appliances support face recognition and the creation of alerts for specific profiles. By default, this feature is disabled, and the organization’s admin can enable it. It is the user's responsibility to ensure that face recognition can be used in their respective geography (state, city, etc.) and that they remain compliant.

Enabling Face Recognition on All Cameras

Admins can enable face recognition and person-of-interest alerts by going to Settings (top right) > Controls > Enable Person of Interest. Once enabled, face recognition will run on all cameras for that organization. Currently, we do not support disabling face recognition on specific cameras, but we plan to add this feature in the future. If you need this ability, please contact support, and we can prioritize this feature

Configuration for good face recognition

For effective face recognition, the person should be within the camera's range, achieving at least 50 pixels per foot (PPF). The table below shows distances for good face recognition based on the camera type. Additionally, there should be some frames where the person looks directly into the camera.

Seeing the faces recognized

To see the faces captured by the Coram system, go to the AI Analytics tab on the left and select the Person tab. The Person tab consists of three sections:

Faces

This section shows all the faces captured by the system based on the filter configuration. To narrow or expand the search duration, you can adjust the filters.

You can click on a face to see all occurrences of that face.

Profiles

If you would like to name a face, click on Create Profile and assign a name. Named faces will appear in the Profiles tab.

Person of Interest

If you want to receive alerts for a particular profile, you can add it to the Person of Interest by clicking the "Add to Person of Interest" button. Once added, you can optionally assign a Notification Group to send notifications when the profile appears.
