How to Create Trespassing Alerts

Trespassing alerts are a useful feature that allows users to be notified when a person or vehicle enters a specified area. This can be helpful for monitoring restricted areas or detecting potential intruders. In this article, we will guide you through the steps to create trespassing alerts using our platform.

Step 1: Select the "Alerts" option from the left sidebar

We have centralised alerts into this single page to allow users to easily:

  • create, view and edit alerts configurations;

  • view alerts feeds which are generated every time an alert triggers

Step 2: Click on the "Alerts" tab

By default the page opens on the "Alerts Feeds" tab, click on the "Alerts" tab to create a new alert config.

Step 3: Use the "Add Alert Config" button and select the correct alert

Click the button at the top right corner and select "Do Not Enter" as the alert type. A drawer opens up from the right.

Step 4: Configure the Alert

To create an alert you will need to select at minimum:

  • one camera;

  • the alert name;

  • the type of detection this alert should trigger for

For each camera you add you can select a region of interest to restrict the area the alert should trigger in.

Step 5: Set the Days and Time Range

You can also specify the days and time range for the alert's activity. This allows you to customize when the alert will be active and when it will be inactive.

Step 6: Configure Notifications

Finally, you can configure the alert to send notifications to one or more notifications groups. Each notification group can contain multiple contacts with email and phone numbers to be notified.

Step 8: Receive Notifications

When the alert is triggered, a notification will be sent to the specified email or SMS. The notification will include a link to the video, allowing you to access and review the footage quickly.
