Creating an Idling Alert

Send notifications to a custom recipient list when a person or vehicle is detected as idle in a defined area for a minimum specified time.

Before you begin, ensure the following:

To create a new Idle Detection alert:

  1. Access the Coram web app and sign in to your account.

  2. From the main navigation menu, select Alerts.

  3. In the top-right corner of the page, click Create Alert > Idling.

    The Idle Detection Alert page appears.

  4. Type a name for the alert.

  5. Click + Add Cameras.

    The Add Cameras page appears.

  6. Select the cameras you want to monitor for the alert, then click Save.

  7. For each camera that you selected, define the area of interest. You can set the entire image as the area of interest (, selected by default), or draw a rectangle () or a polygon () area.

  8. From the Detection Object dropdown menu, select either Person or Vehicle.

  9. For Idle Time, provide the minimum amount of time before the selected object type is considered idle.

  10. From the Days dropdown menu, set the weekly alert schedule:

    • Daily: The Alert is active every day of the week.

    • Weekday: The alert is active only every Monday to Friday (inclusive).

    • Weekend: The alert is active only on Saturdays and Sundays.

    • Custom: The alert is active on the days you select from the day picker.

  11. To set the daily start and end times for the alert, provide the Start Time and End Time in the 12-hour format (for example, "3:15 PM").

  12. From the Notification Groups dropdown menu, select the notification groups you want to include for the alert. To confirm your selection, click anywhere outside the dropdown menu.

  13. To save the alert, click Create Alert.
