Overview
While Coram Point excels at integrating with ONVIF-compliant cameras, it also supports certain closed camera systems through RTSP streams, including wireless cameras.
Closed cameras are proprietary camera systems that may not fully support standard protocols like ONVIF. However, many of these cameras offer an RTSP stream, which allows third-party software like Coram Point to access their video feeds.
RTSP is a network control protocol designed for use in entertainment and communications systems to control streaming media servers. It enables the viewing of live streams from cameras that support this protocol.
This learn more about connecting cameras using an RTSP URL, refer to Adding Cameras Using an RTSP URL.
Note: You will most likely need to continue paying for closed camera subscriptions if you use RTSP. Many closed camera vendors require an active subscription to enable or maintain RTSP streaming capabilities. If you stop paying for the subscription, the RTSP stream may be disabled. Please check with your respective vendor for specific details.
