Overview
Coram optimizes video quality based on where and how you are viewing camera feeds. For interfaces that display multiple live streams simultaneously, the system defaults to a lower quality stream to conserve bandwidth. However, when viewing the Timeline page for a single camera, you can enable or high-definition (HD) video, or set it as the default, for a clearer and more detailed view.
Video Quality in Different Views
Live View, Kiosk, and Personal Wall
When watching multiple camera feeds, such as through the Live View, Kiosk, or Personal Wall pages, each video stream is shown in standard definition (SD) at approximately 512 kbps and 6 FPS. This lower quality helps maintain smooth playback and reduces bandwidth usage, especially when several video feeds are shown simultaneously.
Timeline Page
If you select an individual camera and navigate to its Timeline page, you have the option to view the feed in HD. To do this, open the camera’s Timeline page then, in the bottom right corner of the video player, click the HD option.

Tip: HD video provides a clearer image, which can be beneficial when reviewing critical details or analyzing events recorded by the camera.
Setting HD as the Default Quality
If you frequently use the Timeline page and prefer HD quality by default, you can enable this option in your personal settings:
Access the Coram AI web app and sign in to your account.
In the top-right corner of the page, click the dropdown arrow (), then select Settings.
In the Settings sub-menu, click Personal.
Enable the toggle for High Resolution Live Video Streaming.
Once enabled, any Timeline page you view while logged in with your account will default to HD video, ensuring that you always get the highest quality image available without manually switching from SD.
